Operational Excellence
Building the foundation for leadership and continuous improvement.
Business Objective
Support efficient enterprise distribution and fulfillment operations while identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce unnecessary costs, and improve service to internal business partners and the Farmers agency force.
My Role
As Distribution Manager, I led warehouse, inventory, shipping, and fulfillment operations while overseeing 11 direct reports and an organization of more than 20 employees. My responsibilities included people leadership, budgets, inventory management, operational planning, business continuity, and continuous improvement.
Scale & Complexity
The operation supported the storage and distribution of marketing, sales, and business materials used throughout the organization and agency force, requiring coordination across multiple business partners, inventory needs, service expectations, and competing priorities.
Execution
Applied Lean principles to identify inefficiencies and improve workflows while partnering across the organization on broader cost-reduction opportunities. During an enterprise initiative reviewing Farmers' portfolio of sales and marketing materials, my team helped identify redundant and outdated materials housed within our operation and opportunities to simplify the portfolio.
Business Impact
Helped eliminate unnecessary materials, reduce ongoing production and inventory costs, improve operational efficiency, and support broader brand and business changes while maintaining reliable service to internal partners and the field.
